The start of our Eco journey…

The first part of this post is THE most important… When staring your eco journey or just cutting back on plastic use DO NOT just throw away all the plastic you have like shampoo bottle just because you now have shampoo bars!
Make sure you use all of the product before even thinking about throwing it away, but remember lots of plastic can be reused, we cut any plastic we have like juice bottles, shampoo/conditioner, bubble bath and containers then we re-use them as planters to start off seedlings. This is a great way to do a little extra for the environment your not only making the change to more sustainable products along the way but also putting less plastic in to refuse.
Using these containers as planters saves money too and because they are plastic they can be re planted over and over, I have an old coke bottle that gets planted every year for the past 3 years, it looks a little rough now but it still works and starts our planting season perfectly.

We have made eco conscious decisions for a while I have used shampoo and conditioner bars for a few years now and made my own home cleaner, over the next few weeks I am hoping to purchase an eco egg for laundry, reusable kitchen towels and cotton face pads.

The shampoo I use can be kept in cute little tins in your bath room its by <a href="http://<iframe style="width:120px;height:240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="//"> Ucradle they do different scents and types depending on hair type too which is fab!

This is a really easy swap and they work just the same as shampoo and conditioner either rub in your hands or rub the bar on your head. (It takes some getting used to after years of grabbing the bottle remembering to take the tin or get the tin before showering take a while haha)

For us girlies one of the biggest money savers as been during my monthly cycle I have changed to cups and reusable sanitary towel and they are incredible really easy to clean despite what you might think and the cups are perfect you can wear them for up to 12 hours! If you work away from home maybe have a couple of cups so you can clean them correctly. Financially for me this swap has saved me the most, instead of spending ££’s every month on products or trying to just buy what ever is on offer I have a cute little cup in a pretty bag just there ready and waiting. The cup I use is – <a href="http://<iframe style="width:120px;height:240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="//"> Danico it is latex free and only £7.99 #bargainalert

They are really simple to use it is different I won’t lie to you but once you get over the idea of washing it and reusing its is truly AMAZING!

If you have any Eco-friendly tips for me please let me know in the comments like I said we are fairly new to this journey and would love help and advice along the way!
